Did Lil' Wayne or the New Boyz reinvent Male Skinny Jeans?
There is speculation on whether Lil' Wayne or the New Boyz made Skinny Jeans more popular for guys. After their debut song, "Your A Jerk", Sales of Skinny Jeans for males spurred, so many assume that the New Boyz made Skinny Jeans more popular among guys. In actuality Lil Wayne began wearing them 1st a few years ago at one of his concerts. From the pictures above you can see Lil' Wayne wearing skinny jeans at the MTV Music Awards in '08. The picture of the New Boyz is from the BET Awards '09. So though Lil' wayne started wearing Skinny Jeans first, it was the New Boyz who made them more popular among teen males.

well i like lil wayne better because he is awsome. Since he is better than the new boyz and because his music is listened to more, i choose him. I think that lil wayne made male skinny jeans more popular and not those other jerks.
The New Boyz are shameful. They make it seem like hip-hop is all about dancing and skinny jeans rather than the music. Wayne is equally trash but at least he makes good money. As far as skinny jeans go, people shouldn't go out and buy things because a celeb has 'em anyway. Especially second rate celebs like the New Boyz.
I hate mainstream hip-hop.

Also, the New Boys have really started a trend among the general male population. They can partially be credited with this new style that has recently appeared...
i think the New Boyz reinvented Skinny Jeans, though lil' wayne wore them 1st. A lot of guys didn't start wearing them until the New Boyz came out. So the New Boyz did reinvent them.
hmmm...I can't say who is responsible between these two options since skaters have been wearing them for way longer than LiL Wayne. So maybe the skaters started the domino effect (you like how I used your company name, rigt!)

i think that Lil Wayne started wearing them first but every once in a while. but every since the New boys came out the the Jerk video came out more people started wearing them openly.
In my opinion i believe that although lil wayne may have started the trend it was the New Boyz that made them more popular. the option of who should take the credit is open for debate because on most occassions though one individual may have started a trend whoever makes it popular recieves the credit which personally i find to be unfair.Meme brings up a good point though in saying that lil wayne is a better artist so he started the trend well if that was the case then why wasn't it popular until the New Boyz reintroduced it? Mrs. Pritchard also brings up a good point in saying that skaters began the trend which may indeed be true but they are not famous so they have less of an influence. which is why in a way i agree with Jon because in a world where we have such much freedom why are we continuosly living our lives based on the influence from a celebrity or some other icon. In my opinion, though many people had valid points, neither celebrity should be given the credit because all the trends we follow today are just being brought back from earlier times before lil wayne and the New Boyz were even thought of!
I won't lie the new boyz made skinny jeans more popular because people i knew started wearing them but lil wayne first started wearing them which means the new boyz took skinny jeans style from lil wayne
i think the new boyz reinvented it because ever since they came out i see alot of black boys wearing them. I have never really paid attention to lil wayne so i wouldnt know about him!
Personally I think that niether Lil Wayne nor the New Boys started the fashion of skinny jeans. I just think that they were the famous people who made it more known. I dont think that skinny jeans would have been as well known if it were not for them.
well i think lil wayne kinda brung it back but i think the new bboyz brung it back even more bc now more males are wearing it even more once new boyz came out and juz created a new style altogether in my opinion for alot of people.
i feel that lil wayne should get more credit than the new boyz because of the fact that he wore them first in the popular world..(celebs) and he probably had started it becoming a trend. It may have been getting around but just not at a pace the new boyz did..but most credit should be given to the originators of the skinny jeans..because without their brillant fashion design..neither the new boyz, lil wayne, girls, boys, stores, everyone who supports them wont be able to have them now...
Well, I think that neither Lil Wayne or the New Boyz can claim the beginning of the skinny jeans. Especially since I believe that the skaters have been wearing them way longer than Lil Wayne or the New Boyz. So I think that it's impossible to say exactly who started the skinny jean line.

Ok well..if anybody knows about trends and fashion then you'll know that Skinny jeans were about Before 08 and way before the new boyz started wearing them..skinny jeans became very popular on the east coast( new york to be exact) with the levi brand and people up north caught on to it..many people including many artist of course visit new york either on vacation or for their tours and they take the fashion they see there and get inspired. Levi started making colored skinny jeans back in 07 /08 and that also became very popular..therefore Neither of these two artist made skinny jeans hot
